Ironwood eagle figure made in the exquisite traditional beaded style of the Huichol Indians of Mexico.
Their beaded art is made by overlaying carved wood shapes with a beeswax and pine resin mixture; then placing the beads on this sticky base, by hand, one by one until all of the patterns take form and resolve into a completed whole. Using complex designs and symbols, each piece tells a unique story about the legacy of this tribe, their religious beliefs, and vision about the universe. This piece is modern.
