"Fugaku Sanjurokkei" by Japanese Ukiyoe Master Katsushika Hokusai

This print belongs to the famous collection of 36 ukiyoé, called "Fugaku Sanjurokkei" (landscape paintings of Mt. Fuji), by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) a famous ukiyoé artist of the late Edo period.
A beautiful new hand printed Japanese Ukiyoe Woodblock Art Dress!

Ukiyoe is a style of wood block printing created and developed in Japan during the Edo era (1603-1867). "Uki" means floating and "yo" means world. "e" in Ukiyoe means picture(s). So Ukiyoe literally means "pictures of the floating world." Ukiyoe prints commonly describe Japanese landscapes, the everyday life of commoners, kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers and beautiful women.

Our art dresses are printed by hand in limited quantities using long lasting non toxic "watercolor technique" dyes on a wax press. Soft and durable cotton-poly blend. Shipped brand new in poly bag. This dress will not shrink. We recommend hand wash or machine wash on gentle setting, hang to dry.
