This is a RARE, COMMERATIVE JOHN F. KENNEDY silver-plated spoon by Rogers Manfacturing Company. I'm not sure exactly when this was produced but it was sometime between 1961 and his assasination because the dates on it are 1961 to 19--. It is a commerative piece of history honoring the 35th President of the United States and his quest to promote space travel in the 20th century. The top of the spoon pictures a bust of President John F. Kennedy, printed below is "Thirty Fifth President", then 1961 19-- indicating if was made prior to his death in 1963. Along the handle of the spoon JOHN F. KENNEDY is spelled out and finally, in the spoon base are the graphics depicting John Glenn's historic space flight around the earth in FRIENDSHIP 7.
What a fantastic piece of historic memorabilia to own, sure to increase in value over the years. It measures approximately 6" long - standard size for a teaspoon. A great piece to add to your collection!
