The unique shawl is a rust burnt orange, close to an ochre muted yellow, I could also describe this color as a warm auburn. It is more on the red side of brown than on the yellow side of brown. It is made with silk chiffon 8mm and it is hand hemmed and it is 21" x 69".
When I imagine a color, I "concoct" the mixture, in order to obtain the shades I have in mind. This particular color has been obtained after 3 different dye baths with varying pigments.
Due to hand dyeing process the shawl wrap scarf has been pre-shrunk. It can be hand washed in cold water and ironed when still slightly damp.
My unique shawls and scarves are individually hand dyed with permanent dyes, unless I plan to have several shawls the same color for a wedding for instance. I create wonderful individual variations from one shawl to the other. I have been experimenting with silk dyes for years, and I still find amazing "concoction" that create beautiful and unusual results, including an amazing variety of shades and different values of the same shade.
The first two photos were taken outside in afternoon natural light.
