This is a new venture for me. My sister mentioned seeing decorated tree swing seat at a crafts festival she visited recently and suggested I should do some of them.
Me, being a artist, wanted to see just what I could do with her suggestion- and this is what I came up with.
I first did a blue wash at the top and greenish colored wash on the bottom. I then painted the design of a big fat Toad on a skateboard. This would be loved by any young child.
It is sealed with outside Sand and Sealer, 2 coats. They have been routed and sanded for smooth edges.
I am not going to include the ropes or hangers of any kind. I will leave that up to you-since I have no idea how much anyone would need anyway. But once you get therope you choose, they can be hung on a sturdy tree branch, or any other sturdy structure- and will provide lots of "fun time" for the children.
~~~~~I just want to do the decorative seats!
It has 4 - 3/4 inch holes drilled into each swing seat. The material is treated 1 &1/2 inch pine lumber. It is 18 inches long and 8 inches wide.
PLEASE NOTE: occasionally you might see tiny superficial cracks in the wood- but that is not a problem with being sturdy and secure. Wood does this over time.
