Traditionally, African Soap has been used to treat rashes, acne, eczema, dandruff, body odor and much more. The African soap helps keep the skin clean and helps against premature facial lines. It is great for showering, bathing, washing of the hair, face and the feet. African Soap is recommended for the young and the old; It leaves the skin smooth and soft & as a facial soap it is excellent for clearing acne.
Black soap is called many names, but the most common is Ose Dudu (doudoun), which comes from the Yoruba or Anago languages of Nigeria, Benin and Togo. Ose Dudu means literally Soap (ose) Black (dudu).
Here in honor of the African tradition, is my version of Ose Dudu / African Shea Butter soap.
Made from some of the very same ingredients (I finally located genuine Camwood), mounds of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Cocoa Nibs, and Honey using the Hot Batching process.
I've added Almond Fragrance Oil (my favorite), as another personal touch.
Pictured is the homemade batch for 8 oz container (as pictured). Also available are single 3.5 oz bars.
