When I was a little girl every house had a few of these hanging near the stove. In our family my great Aunt Alice turned them out by the dozen. As soon as one got a little soil it was tossed and a new one taken from the drawer.
These pot holders don't look like they were ever used as pot holders but they have been displayed. One is evenly faded from yellow to cream on one side only however this may only be due to using a different color thread. They are made of cotton thread or yarn. The brown thread has lurex woven into it. They would go very well in a retro or deco kitchen. They are double thickness and could be used as hot pads. They are 6 inches in diameter.
