Little did I realize that I would find this fascinating story entitled CHEROKEE GENERAL by Lou Gilstrap with illustrations by Joe Grandeee that is a historical primer not only on the bloodlines of our native Indians but also on the Confederates who led the Indians in defense of their territory.
