#0224 0225 We found these two old hames at a barn auction in Bonham, Texas. We found them tied together so they were obviously used together at some point in their history. However, on close inspection we found that they do not match perfectly. It's like someone took them and just used whatever materials they had available at the time to make them work. EAch looks hand assembled and forged.

Both of the knobs are SOLID Brass. One is different in design than the other. Both were painted black at some point and both appear to have the same patina and wear. I would strip the black off to reveal the brass beneath but I leave that to you. Both wooden hames are the same in length at 27" long. Both are flat on one side and rounded on the other. The original iron hardware is crudely attached to each. One of the hames still has a BIG chunk of the original old leather strap attached. VERY cool old nails are still found all around each.

There's just somethig so charming about these old hames. The amount of hard work and history behind them make for wonderful conversation pieces. Would look beautifully rustic in any manner of settings.
