This early Art Deco ceramic is in the shape of a buffet console bowl but this is meant for a wee shelf. It is only 5¾ inches across and 3 high. The fanned shape is decorated in a slightly turquoise and sand with double Xes and orange dots (sort of like tic-tac-toe). The photo makes the blue a bit more electric than it really is. The piece is incised on the bottom HARTROX England.
This piece is heavily crazed but has no chips or cracks. I found a clump of glaze on one side near the top that is from the manufacture, but nothing else out of place. A rare offering and almost never available in North America.
