This is a very interesting and rare find! It is an antique wedding announcement for the wedding of Louis Amiet to Theresa A. Callender on March 20th, 1888 in Henderson Kentucky. It appears the frame is original. It has four small broken areas on each corner but in very nice shape overall for being over 122 years old. The frame measures 9" by 10.5". The matting under the announcement appears to be original brocade-like fabric in gold color. The announcement itself appears to be in very good condition with a separation at the fold.
There is also a "business card" for the Hotel Amiet that shows L. Amiet as being the proprieter. The card has to be of the same time period because it is in a new building, being newly furnished, the room was only $1 per day. We reserched the hotel and found it no longer exists. On the reverse side of the card, there is a mileage chart of distances from certain cities to Henderson, KY. The card has two smalll ink stains on the back with a small puncture mark in it. At the top and the bottom left corner, there are small creases (not folds).
