This tiny annual of a deep royal purple grows to around 4" tall and will reseed and come back every year if conditions are right! These are great for containers, walkways, edging, or even windowboxes. Very Very easy to grow-great project for kids!
These little flowers are a magnet for bees and butterflys which are good for your garden.
You can plant lots in one area, when they are about 2" tall, dig them up and plant some in another area. These little guys will stay in bloom all season long! Here in northern California, mine are in bloom from spring through late October. Beautiful splash of color for rock gardens too!
I plant the purple ones with some white ones and the gold ones. Beautiful!
In early spring, sow seeds 1/16' deep-barely cover, or spread on raked soil & very lightly cover with vermiculite. That will keep seeds from blowing away and the birds won't see them. Space about 6" apart-as they grow, they will spread. Keep moist until germination.
