These are unusual little flowers known more for the seeds they produce. Once the flowers are spent, little seed pods carry many, many tiny sesame seeds-just like what you have on your hamburger bun! Bees, butterflies & birds are attracted to the flowers. Keep your garden healthy & invasive pests out by growing this beautiful flower.
These will grow to about 3' in height, space about 18-20" apart in full sun.
Sow in spring once temps are in the 70's. Sow about 1/8' deep, keep moist until germination. Harvest in 80 days. This plant will self sow if conditions are right.
You can collect the seeds and use in salads, as a snack, or, if you bake your own bread, sprinkle on top. YUM!
